Advantages and disadvantages of blogs

Blogs are very cool, it is a very cool media to communicate things to the world.
Advantages: In blogs you can write and write how much as you can without wasting paper. All the information you write the world can see. You can be the owner of one account and have a variety of different subjects. Blogs are very nice because you can turn homework using it, you can make presentations, you can make biographies, stories, etc. and have a nice background you can choose. Blogs are very effective and useful, it has many tools you can learn how to use and it is a fast way of writing information instead of writing it by hand. Another nice thing is that it has a spelling corrector and it tells you when you misspelled something
Disadvantages: Even though I think the blogs are very cool, we have to be careful sometimes. People like putting a lot of information about themselves, and that is not necessarily good because everyone in the whole world can see your blogs, and you can't avoid it, so if you put a lot of information about yourself you are risking your life and someone can kidnap you or stalk you. Another thing is that you may put invalid information so if people read it and use you as a reference they will have a bad mark and they may report an abuse.
We can have a lot of fun in the internet and we can learn a lot of things, but we should never exceed limits.

What is the impact of new emerging technologies and their applications?

Every day new things are created. Technology is not only the electronic things, technology is the evolution of things. There is this famous quote that says that technology only proofs the laziness of people, at the beginning I did not understand it but if you analyze it you will see it is true. This quote is true because technology makes our lives easier and it helps us do things faster, for example: a car, instead of walking we have car so it is much more comfortable and we get faster.
So technology impacts our life every single day, social networks are developing every time, so you can live in China and your boss in Venezuela and you can work easily, you just have to go on Skype and that's it. Skype is becoming a major source for work communication, if you miss someone you go on a video call and that's it. There is this new generation of people that the majority of their couples they meet online. I have found friends that I haven't talked to since Kinder and I talk to them every day. One of my best friend live in Argentina and I talk to her almost everyday, and our relationship is intact and that is thanks to the technology, the advancement of communication.
Buildings, malls, etc. are constructed faster because technology has advanced so new trucks with more applications can do them faster.
Technology is going to keep on advancing and it will keep on impacting our lives. So many things have been invented that I cannot even imagine what things are going to be created.

Criterion D – Evaluate

Instructions: Comparing the quality of the product with the original design specifications.

1. Was my product able to meet the aim I established in my design brief, if yes why? If no, why not?

In my opinion my product was able to meet the aim I established even though I did some different things than the ones I specified in my design brief. My goal was for people to understand that they an achieve their biggest dream and I believe that my product clearly showed this. I am very satisfied with my final product.

2. Which are the areas that require improvement?

Something that requires improvement is the size of the product, I had some problems printing it so at the end it came out kind of small. But overall I am happy with my work, I obviously don't think that my project is perfect, but that is what I like because I created the whole thing by myself, if I wanted something perfect I would have just gone to Google and get a nice image that transmits the message and that is it, but what I wanted is to be creative and do something different in my own, so I saved two images and I worked with both.

3. Do you have any changes or deviations from the original design? Explain and justify.

There were some things I did change from my original design because at the beginning I didn't understand well what we were suposed to do, I thought we had to do a poster and present to he class why we chose this quote and show some images that are related to it. But then I understood that we had to do a product that make people understand the message I wanted to transmit, I still used the original typography, I used the Walt Disney Font.

Evaluating efficiency of the planning process

· Did everything worked as I planned it? If not, what went wrong?

Things did work as I planned, my frinal product did transmit the message I wanted to. I had many complications because I never use Photo Shop so it was kind of hard, cutting pictures and putting on top of others, and pating a cloud. Another thing that went wrong was the size I had in my mind of how my product was going to be, it ended up being kind of little.

· Evaluating the social significance of the product

1.) Do you think that your presentation is useful for the student community?

I do think that my presentation is useful for the community because it encourages them to achieve their dreams in life. I made a cute product and it looks childish but it has a very deep message in it.

2.) Friends opinions, you need to have name and opinion of 2 people

Rafaela: I think that your project is very cute, since the first time I saw it I understood perfectly the message of achieving our dreams in life. It looks very nice, it would have been cooler if it was a little bigger but it is allright. Good Job :)

Sofia: Your product has a very important significance it is very well done because we can all understand it perfectly. I really like the detail you put in it and we can see you put effort on it!

What are the advantages and limitations of the design cycle as means to making a product\solution?

The design cycle has many advantages but at the same time it may have disadvantages. The design cycle has to go through some steps (Investigate, design, plan, create, evaluate). When you have a plan and you have to go step by step your work will end up being more organized. Every step of your design cycle is very important and so the final project will be very complete if you go through them and you analyze them well. Having a plan and something you have to follow will help you get the final product you wanted to have and it will be very organized and you will gain a lot of knowledge you did not know from investigating and using new tools and new applications. Another thing that can happen while you go through the design cycle is that new ideas can come up that are better than the one you had.

Even though there are more advantages than disadvantages, there are still limitations. Going step by step in a design cycle requires a lot of time and maybe you concentrate way to much doing the design and then you put less effort in your final product. It depends on the person, but there are some people that can spend a lot of time investigation, then designing, the planning, etc. and while you go through those things you may change your mind many many times so then you would have to re-start all over again an investigate on your new project.

Regardless from the disadvantages I still think that a design cycle is a thing we should all go through when we have a project in mind. If there is a product we want to do we have to go through this cycle and time will be required if you want to end up having a good product.
